Restoration & Exhibit Update
In 2022, New York State invested more than $20 million in the building and exhibits, and Philipse Manor Hall now tells the stories of the native Munsee people who inhabited the area, the Europeans who settled there, and the enslaved Africans who lived and worked on the Philipse estate. The updates align with NYS OPRHP’s “Our Whole History” Initiative. Interactive exhibits, QR code technology, and an expanded staff of tour-givers support diverse learning experiences, and a new elevator provides improved access to exhibits on the second floor.

Capacity & Organizational Effectiveness Grants
The Friends of Philipse Manor Hall is grateful for the support of the Parks and Trails New York Partnership Program. In 2024-2025, we received a $36,800 Capacity & Organizational Effectiveness Grant to support our new Capacity-building Initiative. In 2022-2023, we received a $48,100 Capacity & Organizational Effectiveness Grant to support our Marketing and Membership Outreach Program, and in 2016-2017, we received a $14,875 Stewardship and Public Access Capacity Grant for our Oral History Project. These grants were funded through New York State Park and Trail Partnership Grants and New York’s Environmental Protection Fund and administered by Parks & Trails New York, in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
